I’ve worked in several different fields. The common thread is that I’ve been interested in computers – including animal brains, trying to understand how they work, and how they can be made to automate tasks.
Though I started out as an Electrical Engineer, for my PhD. I dove into neuroscience, studying how bats use sonar to guide their flight. For my postdoctoral research I studied how cortical and sub-cortical brain regions contribute to cognitive processes. Now in industry I work on computer programs that perform genomic analyses.
